Visakha Vidyalaya Water Polo team achieved remarkable success during 2022 as they won all encounters to conclude the season unbeaten. The team won their annual encounter against Ladies College, the Sri Lanka National Championship and the Sri Lanka Schools Water Polo Championship. The junior team won the Junior National Championship.
All the hard work and hours put into personal fitness and individual training have paid rich dividends as the enthusiastic girls produced their best to clinch titles. Coached by Yashodha Wasalage, Tusari Ekanayake and Kalindu Hettiarachchi, the team displayed immense talent and registered victories at the following encounters;
· National Aquatic Championship 2022 Water Polo with a final score of 21-8 against OTSC-B team.
· Sri Lanka Schools Under 20 Girls Water Polo Championship- with a final score of 5-3 against Bishop’s College.
· Sri Lanka Schools Under 16 Girls Water Polo Championship- with a final score of 21-1 against Bishop’s College.
· Junior National Aquatic Championship 2022 Water Polo- with a final score of 23-0 against Star Fish Aquatic Club.
· Annual Under 19 Water Polo Encounter Ladies’ College vs Visakha Vidyalaya – with a final score of 17-13.
· Annual Under 15 Water Polo Encounter Ladies’ College vs Visakha Vidyalaya – with a draw with the scoreboard reading 11 all.
