
A Special Student Parliament Session
A Special Student Parliament Session for Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo, was held on the 25th March at the Old Parliament Chamber of the Presidential Secretariat as part of a series of educational programs conducted by the Presidential Secretariat, the Ministry of Education, and the Sri Lanka Parliament Department of Communication. The event was conducted under the esteemed patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
During the session, student parliament members of Visakha Vidyalaya had the valuable opportunity to engage in discussions on governance while gaining insights into the conceptual and practical significance of the “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative.
On this occasion, Mrs. Manomi Seneviratne, Principal of Visakha Vidyalaya, presented a special commemorative token to Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
The event was graced by the presence of Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvie Salih, Deputy Chairperson of Committees Hemali Weerasekara, Secretary-General of the Parliament Kushani Rohanadeera, Senior Additional Secretary to the President K.M.N. Kumarasinghe, Director-General of Legal Affairs to the President J.M. Wijebandara, Principal of Visakha Vidyalaya Mrs. Manomi Seneviratne, along with members of the academic staff and students.
This initiative provided a valuable learning experience for the students, further strengthening their knowledge of governance, leadership, and national development.
