The 2024 Western Province Colours Awarding Ceremony was held on 20th July 2025 at the Kularatne Auditorium, Ananda College, Colombo 10, to recognize and honour outstanding athletic achievements in the province.
At this prestigious event, several athletes from Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo were awarded provincial sports colours for their exceptional talent and performance in various disciplines. Among them, Dinali Karunadasa of Visakha Vidyalaya received the prestigious title of “Most Talented Sportswoman – 2024”, marking a proud moment for the school.
Colours were awarded to Visakhians in the following sports:
- Aerobic Gymnastics – 3 recipients
- Badminton – 8 recipients
- Chess – 2 recipients
- Karate – 1 recipient
- Swimming – 6 recipients
- Taekwondo – 2 recipients
- Wushu – 2 recipients
Merit awards were presented in the following sports:
- Athletics – 1 recipient
- Badminton – 11 recipients
- Gymnastics – 1 recipient
- Handball – 14 recipients
- Swimming – 9 recipients
The event was a proud occasion that celebrated the dedication, discipline, and sporting excellence of young athletes in the Western Province, with Visakha Vidyalaya once again standing tall in both participation and achievement.
