The Science Day “Episteme 24″

The Science Day “Episteme’24,” organized by the Senior Science Society of Visakha Vidyalaya, was held on August 30, 2024, in the school’s main hall. It was part of a two-month series of events. The Theme of the Science Day was Nanotechnology in Chemical Engineering. The main objective was to raise awareness of the importance of Science in society and inspire interest in Science and Technology.

Episteme 24 was organized along with a two-month-long series of events. A lecture series was conducted, along with an intra-school quiz competition and an inter-school quiz competition. In addition, AI image generation, science fiction, and article competitions were organized accordingly. As the final phase, the Science Society also published a magazine.

Professor Nalin De Silva, Chair Senior Professor of Chemistry at the University of Colombo, and Dr Nadeeka Thissera, an eminent past Visakhian and a senior lecturer at the University of Moratuwa participated as guests on this wonderful occasion.
